Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a good fit for a private suite at the Cottages?
If you’re an active senior and you’re ready for a quiet home shared with good company, the Cottages may be a good fit. As an assisted senior living home, we provide basic living assistance and help you coordinate medical care.
Do you have rooms for couples?
Yes. We have five suites, one deluxe and four standard rooms. All suites are large enough for double occupancy and have also been designed to be adjoining if desired to accommodate resident needs. The home is licensed for a total of six residents at a time.
What kind of assistance do you offer?
We offer many services including, but not limited to, daily and weekly housekeeping, three home-cooked meals a day plus snacks, laundry service, and medication administration. Weekly RN visits and assessments for changes in condition requiring further follow up. Contact us for the most up to date service offerings.
Do you have any openings?
Availability is always changing, so contact us to check on vacancies. It is recommended to contact us for a tour or interview and to fill out an application to get on the waiting list.
How do we reserve a room?
There is an interview process to determine your needs and how we can best serve you. A deposit will hold your place on the waiting list.
Would I have a private bath?
Yes. All suites have their own full bath with a walk-in shower. There is a half bath in the common area as well as a walk-in spa tub in the spa room.
Can I regulate the temperature in my room?
Yes! All suites have their own climate control. The heat is radiant floor heat to ensure your feet stay warm and each room controls their own air conditioning.
Can I stay if my condition changes?
We do our best to meet the needs of each resident. If the need arises, we can utilize home health care agencies to assist with additional care.
Can I have a car?
Yes. If you have a valid license and are able to drive, you can have a car. We even offer valet parking in the winter months!
Can I keep my own doctor?
You can keep your own physician or you can opt for the convenience of a visiting physician.
Do you offer a choice for meals?
Meals are planned around resident dietary needs and preferences. Plans are posted a week in advance and there are always alternative options to choose from.
I like to fish, can I bring my boat?
Martin Lake is a private no-wake lake. The Cottages has access to a private boat launch and depending on availability, there may be space for a small fishing boat.
Can I bring my own furniture?
You are welcome to bring your own furnishing to make up your personal suite. We can furnish it for you if you desire.
We are sensitive to the fact that our pets are important to us. However, we can’t allow pets as we would have a house full of dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, and rodents. We are currently looking for a hypoallergenic, trained companion dog for the home. Your pets are always welcome to visit you and enjoy our beautiful grounds.
How much does it cost?
We offer all inclusive pricing with no application or admission fees. There is a reasonable, refundable security deposit.
What payment and insurance methods do you accept?
We are a private pay facility, therefore you are responsible for paying us each month. Call us to talk about options and payment types.
Is EVERYTHING included in the price?
While our pricing is all-inclusive, meaning that one monthly fee covers everything, we do have a few minor exceptions. There are additional fees to dock a boat or have your car valet parked.
